1. Joining
Any JULY Email account in good standing can join from Referrals in the dashboard by accepting these terms; we record the version you accepted and the time. You get a personal link and a code. Payouts go by Interac e-Transfer, so you need a Canadian bank account to be paid.
2. When a referral counts
When someone follows your link, a cookie named july_ref remembers your code for 30 days. If they create a JULY Email account in that time, or enter your code within 10 days of signing up, they are your referral. We tell them a customer referred them, and they can remove the referral at any time; from then on it earns nothing.
3. What you earn
20% of each payment your referral makes during their first 12 months as a paying customer, counted from what they actually pay, before taxes, in Canadian dollars. Discounts, plan changes and cancellation change it accordingly; a refund takes back its share; the free plan earns nothing. Your referral's price is the same as anyone's.
4. When you are paid
Each payment's share becomes payable 30 days after the payment. Once your payable balance reaches $25.00 CAD, we pay it by Interac e-Transfer in the first week of the next month, to the name and email on your Referrals page. If we pay you more than $500.00 in a calendar year, we issue a T4A slip, which needs your mailing address and your social insurance number or business number; we keep them encrypted. You are responsible for any tax on what you earn.
5. What is not allowed
- Referring yourself, or another account you control.
- Sending your link to people who have not agreed to hear from you. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation applies to you as the sender.
- Paid search ads on JULY Email's name, and presenting yourself as JULY Email.
A referral at your own organization's domain, or from a device or a card you use, is held for review and earns nothing unless we confirm it. We may cancel commissions earned against these rules.
6. Changes and ending
We may change these terms or end the program with 30 days' notice by email; what you earned before then is paid under the terms in force when you earned it. Deleting your account ends your participation, and a balance not yet paid out lapses, so wait for your last payout first.
